Editorial Policy
How we actually review something
The process behind every review, comparison, and "skip this one" verdict on Alivoi — so you know exactly what a rating does and doesn't mean.
01
We use it before we write about it
We sign up for the tool ourselves and run the features that matter most for its category — not just skim the homepage or a demo video. If a feature can't reasonably be tested (enterprise-only tiers, custom sales quotes), we say so directly in the review instead of guessing.
02
Price is checked, not copied
Pricing pages are often misleading by design — free trials that quietly require a card, "starting at" prices that apply to almost no one, add-ons that aren't mentioned until checkout. We check what a typical user would actually pay, including upgrades most reviews leave out.
03
We say skip it when that's the truth
A negative verdict costs us a potential commission. We publish it anyway. If a tool's higher-paying affiliate program happens to also be a worse product, the program size never enters the verdict — the product does.
04
Ratings are ours, not averaged
Every score comes from our own hands-on use — a mix of pricing value, feature depth, ease of use, and support quality. We don't pull or average star ratings from other review sites, and a higher commission never nudges a score up.
05
Reviews get revisited, not left to rot
Software changes constantly — a repricing, a removed feature, a policy shift. We recheck reviews on a rolling basis and sooner when we catch a major change. Every review shows a "last updated" date so you always know how current it is.
This policy works alongside our Affiliate Disclosure — together, they're the full picture of how we make money and how that money stays separate from what we recommend. Spotted something that doesn't match what's written here? Tell us.
